Fiber, fiber fiber!
If Amy ever offers to shop for you, please let her. I sent a list with her to Rhinebeck & she brought me this amazing pile of stuff - waaay beyond the list!
Clockish-wise from left middle:
bombyx&yak top - crazy soft, from Shadeyside Farm
orange/fuschia/red corridalex batt from Grafton Fibers
silk roving from Chasing Rainbows
chunky merino yarn from Morehouse Merino
orange/green/tan merino roving that Carla will steal from me
Maine organic wool yarn from Green Mountain Spinnery
another skein of chunky Morehouse
silk hankies from Chasing Rainbows, which she also taught me to spin on a spindle.
Whew! What a great friend!
She's also a great enabler. I went to Toronto this past weekend to do paperwork for Big Girl Knits & we went on a fiber bender.
Behold:
Let's see, we went to 2 yarn stores & Gemini Fibers.
I bought 4 Fleece Artist rovings and some FA cashmere,
a ball of Be Sweet mohair, Lucy Neatby merino sock yarn,
Treenway Silks Treetops Tussah rovings, polworth roving to dye , local Ontario alpaca fiber from a fuzzy four-legged girl named Rochelle.
And a Forrester spindle.
Here's a close up of that spindle.
It's a Forrester Granny.
Dreamy.
Right before I left for Toronto a Bosworth large spindle that I ordered came.
Needless to say we did some spindle spinning at Amy's house. We also ate a lot of ice cream and chocolate. A heavenly weekend!
