Boots and Flowers
Have you seen the big flowers in the new Vogue Knitting?
They're addictive:
I've made another 4 or 5, and all of this since Wednesday. And all out of yarn from my leftovers box. I've been wearing them as pins & when someone I like compliments me on one, I give it to them. It's a happy thing. With chunky yarn they take 30 minutes or less.
Baby did a bad, bad thing:
Shopping on ebay again. Some great kick around Justins, cheap.

Love Your Body
Today is National Love Your Body Day.
Do something special, honest & loving for yourself.
I ordered pants I love in the actual size I wear right now (16 petite, if you must know). Not the size I hope to be someday over the rainbow. When they arrive I can wear them and feel fab, not stuff them into a drawer and feel bad.
Hooray for me!
What will you do?

Cure for what ails you
Bach Rescue Remedy, herbal stress reducer. It makes me stop clenching my jaw & I growl less at my kids. Does make me feel a little high. I take it durring those PMS-y stressy days.
Cashmere at a great price from ebay.
This one is called chestnut flake. There are tons of marled colors, but I have issue with marled.
Go see, go see, you know you want to.

Scene it?
The new knitting magazine from Interweave is out. Aimed at young, hip, trendy, um, what other catch phrases are out there - they use 'spirited'.
I like the mag. I like it more than the Vogue VK.1, but less than Rebecca.
It has a bunch of patterns & not much to read. There are extra free patterns on their website, and alternate photos. The photos in the magazine are gorgeous and clear. The models - the same as the Interweave Knits, boy am I sick of those girls. Would it kill someone if they used a beautiful fat girl?
Is there anything I'm dying to knit out of it? No. But I find some of the designs inspirational. please no more pom poms, ear flap hats , shrugs & hoods too.
How many knitting magazines are there now?
Vogue Knitting
Knitters
Interweave Knits
VK.1
Knitscene
Knitting UK
Simply Knitting UK
Creative Knitting
Creative Knitting OZ
Yarn OZ
Cast On
Inknitters
Knit N Style (or did that become Creative Knitting?)
Family Circle Knitting (and crochet!)
Family Circle Easy Knitting
Rebecca
Does Rowan count since you can't buy it on the newsstand? I say no.
16 knitting magazines? 200 knitting books in a year?
Wow!
So why can't i find anything I'm dying to knit?

Is anyone else this neurotic?
Feeling stressed and overwhelmed with deadlines, missed deadlines, impending deadlines, how I'm ruining my children with my sub par parenting skills...
Was up between 1-3 am making lists of everything I did wrong last week and need to do better, really important 2 am things like:
I burned a pan of muffins ( call social services!),
I haven't started checking into preschools for Henry,
am I ruining Isobel by letting her compete in gymnastics?
do I really want to keep designing and knitting against deadlines?
does everyone feel like they do everything half assed?
and I have 10 books checked out from the library that I really want to read but don't have the time to & they are sitting on my nightstand ticking like the crocodile in Peter Pan.
oy.
p.s. I took all the library books back this morning

Hello?
Yes, I'm still here, and not doing anything interesting either.
I have knit 2 scarves for an auction:
Left scarf is mohair held with Crystal Palace Squiggle (my all time favorite run-along.
Right is Misty Chunky Alpaca knit in broken rib.
Both soft, yummy & took little time to knit.
Bought some silk yarn from Kerrie at Hip Knits, yummmmmm.
The colors in the photo are close, they're really deeper. I seriously need a new camera.
And we've been making sausage, lamb kofta, our own chicken burgers......grinder is good!
