How do you know when it's full?

Is this full? The bottom of the cop started slipping so I assumed it is. How do you know?

I want to ply this gorgeous correidale fiber I got from Amy. So I'm going to try a couple of different ways that I've read about.

First up, TP rolls slipped over ball winder. I read about this method on one of the spinning lists. It was explained by Sheila, High Priestess of spinning. I figure she knows what she's talking about.

I little worse for wear, the wind of worked pretty well. Now to spin for my second ply.

Any other spindle plying tips?

Have you ever tried quilling your copp? That way you can just slip off the quill then ply directly from them. See knitterguy's entry, here: http://knitterguy.typepad.com/my_weblog/2005/12/spindling_on.html

Just found your site, have you tried andean plying? I use that method when I want a two-ply from my drop spindles. It works great for small amounts of yarn because you wind it on your hand. I cheated and had a friend make a wooden 'fake ' hand so I can put it down in the middle of winding but start with your own first. Search the web for Andean Plying, there are some great how-to sites.

What I want to know is "will it float?"

PS: Dig the curtains.

I know it's full when it wobbles when I twirl, instead of just spinning nicely.
