Ho, Ho, Holidays

Happy New Year!

Our fam had the most mellow holiday vaca we've ever had.
We rarely left the house and certainly never got out of our jammies until well after lunch.
I knit more mittens and spun a little. I read, and read and read - an entire mystery series 8 books in 9 days, the most relaxing and decadent thing I've done in a long time.

The topper was fantastic news about a dear friend with cancer, Hi Maggie!

Henry & his Build Your Own Lightsaber Kit. "Mom Santa made this just for me in his workshop"

Isobel got her first Ipod. I got all misty when I loaded it up for her. Her first Ipod, she's growing up so fast. Man, those rites of passage have sure changed.

They played this well 90% of the vacation. or, at least I think so, I was reading.

Handstanding on Uncle Matty - no spot needed

A gymnastics injury. She came out of a back tuck on the floor & landed flat on her face. Flat. From 5 or so feet in the air. No broken nose, just scrapes. I didn't see it happen. I didn't let her out of my lap for a couple of days.

Now it's back to the work and school world. My husband's back on the road , the kids are back to school and activities, and I'm already working on the next Knittyspin & Fall 09 Curvy Knits.

When's the next break?

Those spring floors prevent a lot of injuries, but the rugs! Lotsa rug burns.

I am all about holidays in Jammies. Those of us with very public jobs need very un-public days from time to time. Good for you all.

I can not believe how big Isobel is these days. I know, growing is her job but her face has no baby in it at all any more. Wowie.

Today I saw a convoy of 5 snow-removal trucks in a row, twice, on the East Side of Lansing. What a sight, I've never seen that before.

I think you got even more than we did. Good thing we went to Ypsi Friday rather than Saturday!!!
