On the Road!

We're in the midst of making our annual vacation pilgrimage to Kansas.
I spun a few ounces of BFL on a Bosworth spindle in the card and finished up one of my 67 projects I packed for the trip. Love knitting (& now spinning) in the car.

Right now I'm trying not to annoy my family with my morning-personness. I wake up early & I wake up awake & silly & talking, usually. Poor Amy & Carla who have to travel with me the most - though I try to soften the morning person blow by hunting the elusive Starbucks before they're out of bed.

More on the trip, and yes, spinning in the car after we arrive.

Ah, Jillian. We never did a conference together, did we? I'm one of those folks who knows when the early places open, or when (and where) the conference center staff puts out the hot beverages ahead of the announced breakfast time. . . .

This is not about your post here. I loved reading your "Big Girl Knits" I am currently listening to your interview with Kelly Petkin on her podcast from Knit Picks, so I looked up your blog. I would have e-mailed but I could not find an address. =-) While I live in Iowa, blessed not to be flooded, yet have helped with clean up. We vacation near you second week of July in Ypsilanti, MI. While at Camp Achor I will be tatting and knitting. Any yarn stops I have to make let me know?

But your charm lies in the fact that you know you're a morning person. My husband apparently is unaware of the level of annoying-ness he can achieve. A couple of weeks ago, he was yammering away and I said, "I just woke up."

He continued yammering and pacing and yammering. Finally, I looked at him and said, "I. JUST. WOKE. UP."

He said, "Oh, I wasn't sure what that meant. I'll go away now."

You have the good graces to not only supply the caffeine, but also to keep it low-key until everyone's awake enought to keep up with you.
