A first
I sent in my first submissions to Interweave. They're for Knitscene, cross your needles for me.
Here's a tease:
silk
mohair & beads, but not crack silk haze
I'm starting to get the hang of my new camera, not that I couldn't RTFM, I enjoy the ongoing madness of trial and error.
Does anyone have measurement of an American Girl doll handy? Someone short and curly is getting one for her birthday & I hope to knit a few things before June.

I don't have the doll, so I can't help w/ measurements, but my niece has one of the knock-offs (I'd buy her a real one if I was sure she'd play with it), and I got this pattern for a poncho at a local LYS (they let me copy it down):
#6 needles, worsted-weight yarn
cast on 26 st.
knit 2 rectangles 10½" long
Their stitch pattern:
1. K2 p2
2. K4 (p2, k2)*, end K4
3. K3 (p2, knit second stitch, then first)*
4. As row 2
Repeat 1-4
(I think Row 3 should end with K3, but their pattern didn't have it.)
At the time I got this, I was still a knitting noob, so I just knit 2 garter stitch rectangles.
Major Knitter has a lot of American Girl sweaters on her blog: http://majorknitter.typepad.com/major_knitter/dolls/index.html - if you scroll down to February 11th there is an entry with lots of links to patterns.
That top photo is making me insatiably curious and also jealous / yum yum yummed out! The colors! woo!

The internet is a marvelous place.
